How to generate opposition to wind power

To generate opposition to wind power, follow the example of Ontario, Canada:

  • Take away decision-making powers from local municipalities
  • Set noise limits, but don’t enforce them
  • Classify complaints as “other”, then deny that there are any
  • Grant legally binding contracts before public meetings to render consultation meaningless
  • Issue permit to cut down an active bald eagle nest
  • Change rules so wind companies no longer need permits to cut down active eagle nests
  • Approve industrial wind projects in designated ‘Important Bird Areas’
  • Appeal the Environmental Review Tribunal’s decision to protect rare turtle habitat
  • Allow clear-cutting of trees including a rare northern sugar maple grove
  • Buy high-cost wind power, then waste low-cost hydro power
  • Buy high-cost wind power, then pay others to use it
  • Export excess power at a loss, but call it a profit
  • Pay wind companies to not produce power
  • Allow SLAPP suits against local residents (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation)
  • Fight local residents in court literally dozens of times (see Legal Actions tab)

This is so simple, and makes perfect sense. No wonder the Liberals couldn’t figure it out!

Succinct and well-said! We could add:
    – ridicule evidence of adverse human health effects, tell people it’s all in their heads
    – ignore devaluation of property
    – rely on turbines owners to report “accurate” bird and bat slaughter
    – continue to increase the billions lost already each time a new, useless turbine is approved
    – build turbines next to airports, Transport Canada safety rules be damned
    – pretend soaring electricity costs are good for the economy
    – engage in Orwellian double-speak with transparently empty promises of “greater say” for municipalities but no veto

This UN Agenda 21, ICLEI and special-interest, funded NGOs and industry lobbyists at work setting policy for a compliant, co-opted government. Democracy hijacked.

  3. The fact is! There is no safe distance for wind Turbines, NOT GREEN, NOT CHEAP, NOT RELIABLE, and come with a very BAD side EFFECT on people and the ENVIRONMENT. there is Nothing about TURBINES GREEN. SAY NO TO WIND TURBINES.
