More Concerns Emerge about the Health Canada Study on Wind turbines

The purpose of the attached commentary “What does it take to correct misinformation?” by Carmen Krogh is to correct misinformation being distributed by the Health Canada Minister regarding a meeting requested and held by the members of the Health Canada Wind Turbine Study Team and CanWEA.

In July 2012, Health Canada announced it would conduct a Wind Turbine Noise and Health Study. The announcement was met with relief by many. But that relief turned into concern once the study design was reviewed.

The lack of transparency throughout the comments process was dismal. Thousands of pages of submissions were sent to Health Canada from around the world with concerns about which projects would be studied and what would be the make-up of the Study Team. There were concerns about whether this study would be scientifically independent and not under the influence of the policy branch of the Ministry of Health.
